THR peer review-final

Peer Review Policy

The Hopkins Review accepts unsolicited submissions of original work from October 1 to November 31. “Original work” may include fiction (short stories, novel excerpts), poetry, non-fiction (creative non-fiction, memoir), and reviews (a timely review of a recently published book or books). Simultaneous submissions are allowed.

Preliminary review

All submissions are reviewed by a reader from our pool of assistant editors and editorial assistants. The highest-ranked submissions are passed up to the editor for acceptance or rejection. The editors try to respond to submissions within six months.

Type of review

Unless directly solicited by the editorial staff, all submissions are read through Submittable (thehopkinsreview.submittable.com/submit). All submissions should carry the authors’ identifying information.
