Peer Review Policy

Arizona Quarterly accepts original works of 6,000-10,000 words not under consideration elsewhere. Qualified submissions are sent out within four weeks of submission for double-blind review to at least two specialists. Criteria for review include but are not limited to: academic quality, relevance to current scholarly debates, style and clarity of writing, suitability to our journal, and conformity to our guidelines. While we try to provide authors with feedback, reader's reports are provided at the reviewers’ and/or editors’ discretion.

Decisions are typically reported between four and six months after the original manuscript is submitted. Authors who receive “revise and resubmit” or “accept with revisions” verdicts are asked to return revised manuscripts within two months, and typically receive a final verdict within one month thereafter. Arizona Quarterly reserves the right to withdraw acceptance at any point in the publication process.
