Author Guidelines

Contributors to the journal must submit manuscripts electronically using the Modernism/modernity web-based portal which may be accessed by visiting https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/modernism. Follow the instructions to create an account, to submit, or to track the progress of your manuscript. Paper submissions will not be considered for publication.

Please double-space manuscripts throughout, with one-inch margins and endnotes. Style and format should be consistent with The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th ed. or above.

It is the author's sole responsibility to obtain permissions for illustrations, as well as any copyright clearances required for the publication of a submission. A black-and-white glossy print or a 300 dpi TIFF file of each illustration will be needed, though a photocopy of good quality is acceptable for initial submission. Captions should be written in a separate document, with appropriate credits and permissions.

The book review section is edited by the University of York office; all correspondence regarding reviews should be directed to Bryan Radley at engl500@york.ac.uk.
