MLN: Modern Language Notes

Published five times a year.
MLN pioneered the introduction of contemporary continental criticism into American scholarship. Critical studies in the modern languages -- Italian, Hispanic, German, French -- and recent work in comparative literature are the basis for the articles and notes in MLN. The journal publishes four single-language issues and one comparative literature issue. Each single-language issue discusses the literary and related works of that language.
Readers include: Scholars; educators; and others with an interest in the humanities, literary criticism, and comparative literature, and in French, German, Hispanic, and Italian literatures.
Circulation: 768 (78% US, 22% Foreign)
