Journal of the History of Childhood and Youth
Author Guidelines
The Journal for the History of Childhood and Youth welcomes submissions of original article length manuscripts devoted to the historical experiences of children and young people without geographic or chronological limitations. All articles selected as appropriate will be anonymously peer-reviewed by experts in the author's field of study. The Journal does not accept material that has been previously published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere. In general, manuscripts should be submitted in English with American usage and spelling but the Journal also has a limited budget for translations. Please contact the editors if you would like to submit an article in a language other than English.
All new manuscripts submitted to the Journal of the History of Childhood and Youth must be submitted online at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jhcy. Peer reviewers and journal staff will also use the system for all communications regarding manuscripts. This new process will allow the Journal’s editors to streamline the submission and review processes, speed up acceptance and revision times and automatically track information regarding authors, reviewers, and Journal content.
We recognize that access to the internet is not universal. We will accommodate those who cannot use the on-line submission process. For further instructions, please contact the editorial staff.
