A NEW EDITOR FOR THE JOURNAL

I am pleased to announce that The Johns Hopkins University Press has approved the appointment of Professor Barbara K. Gold of Hamilton College as Editor of the Journal effective for volume 122, number 2 (June 2001). No changes in editorial policy are envisioned at this time. Beginning immediately, all articles submitted to the Journal should be sent to Professor Barbara K. Gold, Editor, American Journal of Philology, Department of Classics, Hamilton College, 198 College Hill Road, Clinton NY 13323, U.S.A. Books for review should be sent to Professor Carl A. Rubino, Book Review Editor, at the same address. I will continue to have editorial responsibility for publication of material on hand in 121, number 4 (December 2000) and 122, number 1 (March 2001). On this occasion I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the members of the editorial board of the Journal, to our outside referees, to the authors, to my editorial assistant, Ms. Laura Oaks, and to Ms. Carol Hamblen and the editorial staff of The Johns Hopkins University Press for their invaluable assistance during the five years that I have served as Editor of the Journal. I offer my best wishes to Professor Gold as she undertakes this important service to classical scholarship.
