In order to help you continue your involvement in academic
research and debate, Beta Phi Mu has established a collaboration
with The Johns Hopkins University Press. New members can now
receive an electronic subscription to the award-winning journal,
portal: Libraries and the Academy. portal is an international, refereed
journal that addresses the challenges facing academic libraries in the
information age. portal provides a forum for articles that focus on the
ways in which higher education deals with information issues, such as
the support of distance learning, the relationship between libraries and
computing centers, and the economic underpinnings of research and
scholarly enterprise.
portal: Libraries and the Academy has earned recognition
as the runner-up for the "2001 Best New Journal" award,
presented by the Council of Editors of Learned Journals.
We believe new BPM members will benefit greatly from
this opportunity.
